Marielle's Scholarship Fund Supports Performing Arts Students
Algonquin Arts Theatre and The Hoteck family are pleased to introduce a new webpage dedicated to Marielle's Scholarship Fund on the Algonquin Arts Theatre website. Marielle Hoteck was an avid fan of the performing arts and a longtime student and volunteer at the Theatre. This fund was created in her memory to benefit area students interested in attending the Performing Arts Academy.
The webpage www.algonquinarts.org/marielle features links to scholarship applications, various methods to donate to the fund, a list of donors and scholarship recipients, along with news and updates. Supporters and applicants will be able to learn more information about this scholarship program through this page, as well as watch a video montage created by Marielle's brother, Alex.
Algonquin Arts Theatre offers a wide range of after school performing arts classes led by teaching artists who inspire students to explore their talents as actors, singers, musicians and producers. Classes are offered every fall and spring in ten or twelve-week courses that attract approximately 250 students per session. The Theatre is offering twelve classes this spring, including the Algonquin Youth Ensemble that requires an audition for Algonquin Arts Theatre's production of Pride & Prejudice, as well as new classes such as TV & Film from A to Z, Algonquin Glee Singers, Latin Dance Crash Course & Teen Night, among others. Spring classes begin in February 2011. For more information on the Performing Arts Academy, visit http://www.algonquinarts.org/performing-arts-academy.php.
For more information regarding the scholarship fund, contact Brett Colby, Director of Development, at 732-528-4336 or e-mail [email protected].
