Allegro! Chorus Returns to Algonquin Arts with "The Great American Songbook II" this May

Manasquan, NJ - Algonquin Arts� resident chorus, Allegro!, will be performing in their second concert of the season entitled The Great American Songbook II, on Sunday, May 16th at 3 pm. They will be performing music from the 1920s to 1960s - from Broadway, Hollywood, and Tin Pan Alley - including favorites like "Mona Lisa," "Cry Me A River," and "That Old Black Magic."

Allegro! was established in 2004 under the direction of conductor Marcello Velame, and since then, the Chorus has performed to sold-out audiences at Algonquin Arts and off-site concerts at other prestigious venues throughout New Jersey. The thirty member chorus has drawn vocalists from ten towns in Ocean and Monmouth Counties, and for the concert on May 16th, they will be performing with a small jazz ensemble as well.

Tickets are $28 for adults, $26 for seniors, and $20 for students and children. To purchase tickets or obtain more information, contact the box office at 732-528-9211 or e-mail [email protected] . Tickets can also be purchased 24/7 at the Algonquin Arts website, www.algonquinarts.org. Box office hours are Monday-Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. Algonquin Arts is located at 173 Main Street in downtown Manasquan, NJ.
