Summer Stage is a performing arts camp for children and teens. We are pleased to announce this summer's course offerings for students ages 6 and up.
Summer Stage offers campers a chance to explore their artistic abilities in all areas of the performing arts through workshops which include: Acting and Improvisation, Shore Dance, Musical Theatre, Comedy, Stage Combat, film and advanced Musical Theatre intensives. Summer Stage provides a safe and fun environment where students can develop their creative and dramatic skills with professional artists. Each session culminates in a final public performance on stage at Algonquin Arts Theatre.

Learn the basics of acting, improvisation, movement, vocal clarity, stage presence, character role-play and story development. Groups will be broken down by age and students will create their own original play to be performed on the last day of camp. No experience necessary. |

Learn the essentials of being in a musical cast through vocal, dance and acting techniques. Each group will learn scenes, songs and choreography from a popular Broadway musical. No experience necessary. Final performance onstage on the last day of camp. The shows being considered are Cinderella (Musical Theatre I) and Beauty and the Beast. |

Further, learn the basics of acting, improvisation, movement, stunts and chorography through the lessons of stage combat. Glee, unlike many vocal genres emphasizes a complete artistic expression on stage that involves singing, dancing, and acting. Glee performers will learn to sing and perform rhythmically. Music will be selected from popular songs of today.

Students will learn the principles of acting on camera and behind the camera. Students will then create their own products and develop a project presentation from concept to casting to film. The film project will be aired on the Algonquin Arts Theatres big screen on the last day of camp. |

A week-long residency with professional dancers.
Join us for a celebration of the golden age of Hollywood movie musicals and Broadway shows in our Broadway Meets Hollywood dance intensive. Individual classes and workshops will focus on hit titles including Singing in the Rain, Billy Elliot, White Christmas, Sweet Charity, Chicago, An American In Paris and additional beloved musical titles that have made it to the silver screen. |
