Jersey Shore the Multimedia Musical at Algonquin Arts Theatre Features Local Residents

Manasquan, NJ - Algonquin Arts Theatre announces a break-through in live entertainment with Jersey Shore! A Multimedia Musical Adventure, which will premiere on the Algonquin stage on April 9, 2011 at 7:30 pm. Following this event, ticketholders will have a unique opportunity to enjoy a free chocolate-tasting reception.

Audiences will experience the Jersey Shore in a new and unique fashion�through the eyes of a groundbreaking, modern musical group called Squonk Opera. They visited the Jersey Shore for one week and interviewed local residents here to learn more about the area. Throughout the process, historical photos and video footage were collected for use in the final production. This imaginative group has created an original production exclusively for the residents of the Jersey Shore based on their discoveries and interpretations.

Local NJ residents that were interviewed for this production include: Brian Devro, owner of Max Devros Restaurant; Jillian Moran a 3rd grader from the Antrim School in Point Pleasant Beach; Jack MacFarlane, a 4th grader at Sea Girt Elementary School; Jamyn Panepinto of the Spring Lake School of Dance; Dorian Parreott of Asbury Park; Aimee Hawes Ferguson, a lifetime resident of Sea Girt and Brielle; George Dempsey, the Mayor of Manasquan; Carl Mertens of Mertens Jewelers; Bobby Duerr of O2 Marketing; Ryan Pace, a local surfer from Sea Girt; Carl Danish, a Special Education teacher in Jackson and resident of Manasquan; Henry Schwier of Schwier Realty; Dominick Bossone of Squan Tavern; ShiQuell Scurry of Asbury Park, Jess Spataro, a student of Manasquan High School; Gretchen Steiger of Manasquan, Bridget Mastrorilli, an eighth grade student at H.W. Mountz School in Spring Lake; Ashlynn Hayes of Manasquan; and Meghan Kalten Bach, among others.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime musical production will highlight the history, fun, hilarity, and beauty of the place we call home and includes original music, photos, video footage, and a mix of live dance performances by local troupes. This production is appropriate for all ages. The free chocolate-tasting reception after the performance will feature chocolaty delights for ticketholders to enjoy.

Tickets to see this production are $25 for adults & seniors and $20 for students. Group rates and fundraising opportunities are also available for these performances. Algonquin Arts Theatre is located at 173 Main Street in downtown Manasquan, NJ.
