MANASQUAN, N.J. (July 5, 2013) - Cinema Under The Stars, the free outdoor movies presented by Algonquin Arts Theatre, return to Squan Plaza in Manasquan for four weeks beginning Monday, July 15.

Favorite films from four different decades will be featured, beginning with "Matilda" on Monday, July 15 at sundown. The series continues weekly on Monday nights with "Brave" on July 22, Walt Disney's "Peter Pan" on July 29, and the 1980s classic "The Goonies" on August 5.

Movies will be projected on the Algonquin Arts Theatre flytower in Squan Plaza (60 Abe Voorhees Drive) starting shortly after 8 p.m. Attendees should bring their own chair. Popcorn, soda and other concessions will be available for purchase.

In case of rain, the movie will be shown the next night. For weather updates, call the Box Office at 732-528-9211 or go online to the Algonquin Arts Theatre Facebook page at facebook.com/algonquinarts or Twitter feed @algonquinarts.

In the opening film starring Danny DeVito and Rhea Perlman, the title character in "Matilda" is a child of wondrous intelligence. Unfortunately, her parents can barely tolerate what little time they do spend with her. After they send Matilda to a boarding school ruthlessly ruled by principal Agatha Trunchbull, Matilda's fortune turns when Miss Honey, her first grade teacher, begins to believe in her. "Matilda," released in 1996 and Rated PG, is sponsored by Broadway Ray.

Movies continue with Disney and Pixar's 2012 hit film, "Brave" (Rated PG), sponsored by Applebees. Set in the Scottish Highlands, a skilled archer named Merida defies an age-old custom, causing chaos in the kingdom by expressing the desire to not marry. After consulting a witch for help, Merida accidentally transforms her mother into a bear and is forced to undo the spell herself before it is too late.

First released 60 years ago, Disney's fifth animated feature "Peter Pan" (Rated G) has become a classic and will be the third presented at the Algonquin this summer. Peter Pan takes the three Darling children on magical adventures in Never Land where they battle Captain Hook and a ticking crocodile. This charming children's film was adapted from J. M. Barrie's play about a boy who never grew up. Peter Pan is sponsored by New Jersey Natural Gas.

Stephen Spielberg's 1985 favorite "The Goonies" (Rated PG) features a group of seven young friends attempting to save their homes from demolition and, in doing so, discover an old map that leads them on a thrilling underground adventure filled with humor and heart-pounding peril. The Goonies seek - and eventually find - the secrets behind the treasure of the notorious pirate, One-Eyed Willie. "The Goonies" is sponsored by Applebees and concludes the series.
