MANASQUAN, NJ Algonquin Arts Theatre will host a food drive from Nov. 19 to Nov. 23 and will offer participants 10 percent off a single ticket for each food item donated. All food collected will be donated to the Manasquan Food Pantry.

"Our theatre patrons are extremely generous individuals and felt that offering a discount in exchange for a food donation is a great way to reward that philanthropic spirit," said Algonquin Arts Theatre Executive Director William Whitefield. "This gives everyone the opportunity to kick off holiday shopping and be reminded of the spirit of giving this season."

Items can be brought to the Algonquin Arts Theatre Box Office at 173 Main Street in Manasquan on Saturday, Nov. 19 from 12-4 p.m. and from Monday, Nov. 21 to Wednesday 23 from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. The ticket discount will be offered on Algonquin Arts Theatre programming including "The 1940's Radio Hour" from Dec. 1-4, "ABBA-Mania" on New Year's Eve and The Viennese New Year featuring the Father Alphonse Stephenson and the Orchestra of St. Peter by the Sea on Jan. 8.

There is a limit to 10 discounted tickets per person and this offer cannot be combined with other promotions or ticket sales. All tickets more than $10 are subject to a $2 per ticket processing fee.

A wide variety of food items are needed including coffee, soup, canned fruits and vegetables, pasta, sauces and more. Area residents not looking to purchase tickets are encouraged to drop off donated food items as well.

The Manasquan Food Pantry is a non-denominational ministry of the Manasquan Ministerium, 12 churches in the communities of Manasquan, Brielle, Sea Girt, Spring Lake and Spring Lake Heights and exists to provide support to Jersey Shore families and individuals in need. The Food Pantry is overseen and directed by the Board of Deacons at the First Presbyterian Church of Manasquan and the currently enrollment is approximately 400 food-insecure individuals and families in the immediate area.

Algonquin Arts Theatre was founded in 1992 as a nonprofit organization that uses the arts to provide cultural enrichment and educational enhancement of the highest quality for Central New Jersey residents.
