A New Year's Eve Tribute to Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, & The Big Bopper: An Authentic Re-Creation of the Winter Dance Party Tour of 1959

Manasquan, NJ - The official live and authentic re-creation of Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper’s final tour, The Winter Dance Party, and the only show endorsed by both the Holly and Valens estate will be presented at Algonquin Arts on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at 8 pm. The production features John Mueller as Buddy Holly, Ray Anthony as Ritchie Valens, and the Big Bopper’s son, J.P. Richardson Jr., playing the Big Bopper. This live concert performance includes over two hours of unbridled, high voltage entertainment featuring 50’s era hit songs by these legendary rock and roll pioneers: That’ll Be The Day, Peggy Sue, Oh Boy, Rave On, La Bamba, Chantilly Lace, and many, many more.

The Winter Dance Party re-creation show has performed in front of over two million people on national TV and has toured extensively throughout the United States and Canada at performing arts centers, concert halls, theatres, ballrooms, corporate events, casinos and even for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The show began in 1999 in honor of the 40th anniversary of the original tour and has grown immensely in popularity with a substantial fan base. This critically acclaimed, nationally touring concert is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the original tour this New Year’s Eve.
